A.K.A.  ATDQIAAAE (All The Dumb Questions I Am Asked About Exchange)

Will your school speak English?

I think that this is probably the dumbest question I am asked. Come on people! I will be living in SPAIN where they speak SPANISH. So the answer is, "No, my school will speak Spanish, not English." (Although I guess the English teacher will speak English but that doesn't really count...)

Do you speak Spanish?

This is actually a legitimate question. I don't speak great Spanish, but I am doing tutoring sessions with my school's Spanish teacher so I know some of the grammar and vocab. But I am nowhere near fluent.

What "AP's" are you taking?

I got this question A LOT from all of my friends at school who all knew I was going to Spain. I wouldn't answer them but just look at them weird until they remembered, "Oh yeah! Your going to Spain," at which point I would roll my eyes and then we would continue our conversation as if nothing ever happened.

You are going for a Year!?

This is not really a question but a statement and reaction I get a lot when people first learn about my exchange. This question in usually followed by the next question:

Why!?

I get this question a lot, too. It is another good question and for the answer, please look to my post entitled "The Beginning."

Do you get to come home for Christmas?

This is another good question. I get why people ask this and it is a logical question. I do not get to come home for Christmas and my family can not come for Christmas. I am gone for the whole year (September-July) and I dont go home.

Your family will visit, right?

Nope. They do not get to come and visit me until the end. Everyone always looks at me like I am crazy when I say this but it is true! Technically they could come and visit me but AFS discourages it.
